Recycling Rangers RFP

Windham Solid Waste Management District, Brattleboro, VT The Windham Solid Waste Management District seeks a qualified illustrator to produce character renderings based on descriptions and scripts provided by Cirius Business Inc. for Recycling Awareness Campaign in Windham County, Vermont. This campaign is originated from Windham Solid Waste Management District Brattleboro, Vermont, and is being used to increase the recycling rate percentage for Windham County, Vermont. The Project Management company is Pawblo LLC.

Scope of RFP:

Applicant will produce character renderings based on descriptions and scripts provided by Cirius Business Inc. for Recycling Awareness Campaign in Windham County, Vermont. This campaign is originated from Windham Solid Waste Management District Brattleboro, Vermont, and is being used to increase the recycling rate percentage for Windham County, Vermont.

All Candidates who will be considered may submit the work by way of Hard Copy or Electronic format and must include the following:

Sample of 3-5 panel Comic Strip
- Sample Drawings of Characters based on story line presented below, or
- Sample of own comic strip created in the past.

Applicant is responsible for return postage. This can be accomplished through a self addressed, stamped envelope being included with submission or by paying for return postage through PayPal. With PayPal, the charge will be $10.00.

For Online or Hard Copy Submissions:

Submissions have to be in by June 15, 2010. Winning applicant will be notified by June 20, 2010, all other applicants will be notified by July 1, 2010.

Successful Candidate:

Must be able to Conform to all project deadlines
Understands that all work will be the property of Cirius Business Inc.
Will create a series of age/theme appropriate comic strips

Descriptions and Scripts

Story Line #1

Scene: Garage/Home. Resident needing to dispose of toxic household chemicals - stains, urethanes, bleach, pesticides, etc. Toxic Waste villian tries to convince resident to just throw it all away. Recycling Ranger puts a stop to it since it'll pollute the environment. There are special collection programs for this type of waste. Character(s): Toxic Waste (Villian); Resident; Recycling Ranger (Kid Hero)

Story Line #2

Scene: At Home. Older generation throwing everything away. Kid disgusted but doesn't know how to convince them to recycle. Recycling Ranger to the rescue. Character(s): Recycling Ranger (Kid Hero); Adult Figure/Parent; Kid

Story Line #3

Scene: Backwoods. Burn Barrel and Ravine. Resident discouraged with cost of disposal (especially bulky items - upholstered furniture, tires, mattress/boxspring). Incinerator and dumper enticing them to use burn barrel and illegal dumping methods. Recycling Ranger tells them about the health risks to burning garbage, the eye sores of illegal dumping. Character(s): Incinerator (Villian); Litterer/Dumper (Villian); Resident(s); Recycling Ranger (Kid Hero)
